Environmental Policy

IAC recognises that the design, installation commissioning and maintenance of building services can have a significant effect on the environment.

At IAC Services we accept responsibility to monitor and manage our business to comply with all relevant legislation and codes of best practice.

The following policy statement shown below: demonstrates our commitment in this area.

“The Company will ensure that, as far as it is reasonably practicable, they will:

a) Comply with the Environmental Protection Act.

b) Protect the environment by using and promoting the latest environmentally friendly products.

c) Conserve natural resources and use recyclable materials wherever appropriate.

To achieve this, it will:

1) Introduce systems and procedures, which meet the requirements of the policy.

2) Train as appropriate its workforce in current methods, practice and awareness of the need for environmental protection.

3) Audit and Monitor the systems and procedure.

4) Maintain a forum for the exchange of information and views to keep abreast of the constantly evolving environmental issues.

Refrigerant Gases

IAC Services keeps abreast of legislation and environmental issues and where available only uses “ozone friendly” refrigerant gases.

Prior to 1996, the refrigerants used in refrigeration were chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). However, because of increasing scientific evidence that the CFCs are harmful to the ozone layer of the stratosphere, they were banned by international treaty, the Montreal Protocol, after Jan., 1996.

Traditional compounds, such as hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) which are less harmful to the ozone layer, are to be used in their place until the year 2020. By that time compounds such as the hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), which are benign to the ozone layer, are expected to have replaced HCFCs.
